John Murphy came toon visit on Wedmesday. He showed us pictures of Irish mammals and taught us about them. He told us that red squirrells are being killed by the grey squirrells as they are passing on the poxy virus to them. Soon they could be extinct. Before John came, Mr Davoren showed us a video of a Lyre bird. He is incredible.. watch this!
Sports day took place on Tuesday 14th of June. There were sprints, tug-o-war, 3 legged races and piggyback races. We also had a penalty shoot out and the spud and spoon race. It was fanstastic. Photo's coming soon!

We are taking part in this years Sherkin Island art competition. Tricia has been busy preparing the things we need and we work on it in groups every day. This year the theme is 'The Environment' so we are designing our own tree and decorating it with some leaves with ogham writing on it. Ogham is a very old form of writing using lines. You can see the ogham alohabet below.
Sports Day is coming up soon. We have been practicing and we think it is going to be brilliant. We will be doing lots of fun things like spider spider races, piggy back races, sprinting, Tug-o-war and penalty shoot outs.
